Rambos Kitchen Bananas Foster Pancakes
I discovered Rambos Kitchen thanks to Mary at Eat, Talk, Cook. Every time I go to Vegas I spend the weekend with her and her husband and we always have an adventure in food. The first time I went there was in Aug. 2013. That time I have the Bar-B-Que Meatloaf. It was amazing. Since then we try to go every time I’m there.
Some of you maybe familar with Rambos because they were on a recent episode of Hungry Investors on the Spike Network. I wasn’t a fan of the show due to way they had two struggling restaurants compete against each other. But I digress. One of the good things to come out of it was the Bananas Foster Pancakes. These were from a recipe created by chef John Besh.
If you’re unfamiliar with Bananas Foster here is the Wikipeida description: “Bananas Foster is a dessert made from bananas and vanilla ice cream, with a sauce made from butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, dark rum, and banana liqueur. The butter, sugar and bananas are cooked, and then alcohol is added and ignited. The bananas and sauce are then served over the ice cream. Preparation of the dish is often made into a tableside performance as a flambé.”
The one thing you can see about these pancakes is they are HUGE. You will learn I love pancakes and waffles! These didn’t have any ice cream (thank god, then I never could have eaten half of them) butt did have the sauce mentioned above. Which I felt worked really well with pancakes. It was sweet and great substitute for maple syrup. I wanted to finish the entire stack, but there was no way. The triple stack at Rambos is way too much for one person to eat. I left satisfied and full!
A word of note, Rambos Kitchen is WAY off strip but well worth the drive. If you’re staying in Vegas and have a car, venture out and go check out some of the amazing restaurants off strip. Rambos has a 60’s dinner feel. Its a great place to go hang with friends and relax. The waitress we always have Misty is AMAZING! One more thing to check out are the brownies, get one to go because like the pancakes they are HUGE.
If you go tell them Mary and Tim sent you!
